Welcome to the School of Agricultural Sciences at Raffles University. I extend this welcome with assurance that we are committed to providing you quality education and valuable practical experience in a collegial environment. Your education will not only focus on knowledge acquisition but also on developing your professional competence through a rigorous and contemporary program that would enhance your research competencies, critical thinking and ability to work in teams.
School of Agricultural Sciences is environment friendly and imbibes in its students to respect the nature and keep the atmosphere unpolluted for which integrated farming and Life Sciences. At the same time, it also believes in the principles of job led teaching, problem led research, farmer led extension and alumni led networking for its growth. Through our Choice Base Credit Subjects(CBCS), we propose to inculcate multi-disciplinary and other disciplinary competence and leadership skills in our students.
The School is blessed with admirable faculty members having trained at different national and international institutions and excellent infrastructure facilities for teaching, research and outreach activities. “Students First” is always at the top of the list of priorities set in Raffles university and administration, faculty and staff are always geared up to assist the students in their professional development and in accomplishing their goals for success throughout their tenure in Raffles University. Our credibility and reputation, as a study destination for Agricultural Sciences, is the outcome of the quality, experience and dedication of our academic staff; the energy, enthusiasm. and inventiveness of our students and quality and support of our collaborative partners.
We provide a conducive teaching-learning environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities that has enabled us to attract students from across the globe. Participation and active engagement of students in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and community service considerably enhance students’ worldview and perspective. Regular curriculum renewal through drawing on world’s best practices on-going review of student learning outcomes are the hallmark of our teaching-learning practices.
The University gives great emphasis on dynamic curriculum and implemented the recommendations of the Fifth Deans’ Committee of ICAR with effect from the academic year 2018 with total credit of 183 which is commonly prescribed for all the UG degree programmes across the Country. Further, for all round development of students, extra curricular activities like physical education and Yoga Practices have been included as a part of Syllabus.
In order to improve the communication skills, Modern English Language Labs have been established. So that when the students step out of the University, they can face any challenge. Once again I welcome you to join Raffles School of Agricultural Sciences.
